Remember the frog sitting in the water as it slowly heats?  He never feels the problem because it happens in such a slow and gradual manner, until he is finally cooked. So be it with many of the important issues facing the Monterey Peninsula.

Stanford economist Paul Romer has said: “A crisis is a terrible thing to waste.” On the Monterey Peninsula we are definitely at the crisis point when it comes to water and the 30 years of slowly raising the temperature. The Cease and Desist Order placed on Cal Am creates an opportunity to finally face the issue head on and solve the problem. There are no longer any excuses for delay.
