After a fun evening at 7D Steakhouse in Carmel, Isabel and I were looking to spend one more hour out and about before calling it a night. It was late – about 9:15 – and we weren’t sure if any restaurants were open for dessert, but quickly found that right across the street would be one of the best dessert experiences of our Monterey Peninsula dating career.

We enjoyed a peculiar nightcap choice of sparkling rose, and appropriately paired it with an Affogato – one shot of espresso over vanilla ice cream. We consider ourselves fairly experienced in Affogato’s, so we were excited to try this and see how it compares. It was easily the best we’ve had. We didn’t know until after we returned home and researched their website that it is owned by the Georis family – of course it was great!
