We wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the community presence we noticed when the River Fire, Dolan Fire, and Carmel Fire struck. Friends and local business owners’ homes burned down. Families were evacuated. Many horses, dogs, cats and pets needed refuge, and our community rose to the challenge. We saw many business owners selflessly offering a helping hand. The SPCA and Peace is Mind Dog Rescue collaborated to take in over 500 animals in need, and many volunteers came to help. We saw amazing donations and gifts to the fire department and pet shelters. Organizations were created such as All In Monterey, where volunteers gathered and donations were made at Seaside High School to help those in need. We were inspired by the countless selfless acts and unity that was created during very tumultuous circumstances. Thank you to everyone who took their time and resources to help.
