Bernardus is one of the most well rounded places to visit in Carmel Valley – amazing brunch, lunch, and dinner offerings, a great spa with massages available, beautiful pool and gardens, and it’s an outstanding option for a wedding venue.

Bernardus

Bernardus is a place we bring family members visiting, a place we gather as a team for meetings like in the photo above, and certainly a great venue for a wine down after a long week. Bernardus was extensively remodeled a few years ago, and the ambience inside and out is difficult to match with many seating venues and great shade/sunlight options depending on your preference. The breakfast menu is excellent with delicious Frittata’s and Juevos Rancheros, and lunches include everything from beautiful salads to gourmet chicken sandwiches and pizzas. Dinners are a highlight with exquisitely prepared steaks and fresh fish items, and the wine list does not disappoint.

The weather at Bernardus is ideal with the mid valley climate – not too warm, not too cold, just right. It’s conveniently located off the Laureles Grade, so you can hop on the 68 down to the grade, or drive Carmel Valley Road to get there. Rooms have beautiful valley vistas, and with everything Bernardus has to offer, one probably wouldn’t feel the need to explore outside of the lodge even if you spent three or four days. However, if you get adventurous, Bernardus is located near everything we love about Carmel Valley – the Carmel Valley Village, Garland Park, and the Carmel River. Take a look at Bernardus next time you’re in the area, and let us know what you think!
