We just entered into our fourth South Salinas transaction of the year and couldn’t be more impressed with this area. Buyers in the 600-800k range are finding great value in South Salinas when compared with Seaside and in some ways Marina depending on what the buyer is looking for.

For $700,000 a buyer can currently find a 3 bed 2 bath house on a beautiful tree-lined street walking distance to town with excellent restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, brewpubs, and shopping in South Salinas. The weather is fantastic, you’ have quick access to Highway 101 and you are not too far from the Monterey Peninsula. The same buyer may find a 2 bedroom 1 bath in Seaside on a narrow, congested street, but it might have ocean views. A Mariner buyer may find a 3/2, but at $700,000 it will likely need quite a bit of work and the weather will be significantly colder and foggier than South Salinas.

The restaurants in South Salinas are wonderful. Via Azteca is our current favorite with octopus tacos shown below. Wow! Rates dropped this week and we are hearing about more off market opportunities in South Salinas, so if you would like to learn more about this great neighborhood please let us know!
