Californians love their dogs and take them everywhere; hiking, surfing, running, and walking the beach; So why not bring your best friend to dinner, too? The Heinrich Team is no exception and we love our canine companion Puddin, and enjoy bringing her with us wherever we go. So we made note of local eateries that serve delicious food, and welcome our best friends. Some of our favorite places to eat in and around dog friendly Carmel–by–the-Sea that offer a warm welcome to well-behaved canines on their outdoor patios. Some even provide a special meal for your furry pal! Listed below are a few of our favorites, and links to even more choices.

  1. Cypress Inn: Doris Day’s wonderful dog friendly Hotel and restaurant with dog service on the patio and in the bar.

  2. Basil Seasonal Dining: Serves local, sustainable food in modern and creative California cuisine.

  3. Bistro 211: Serves healthy, locally sourced food in a beautiful atmosphere. Dogs welcome on patio, full canine menu, entrees served on frisbees.

  4. Carmel Belle: Serves locally sourced organic meats and produce. Dogs welcome on patio, and can order treats and bowls.

  5. Casanova: Serves French and Italian Country Cuisine, and has two patios where dogs are welcome.

  6. Forge in the Forest: Serves California Cuisine, voted Best Outdoor Dining every year since 1992. There is a menu for dogs, too.
