Il Vecchio – Monterey

There are a number of wonderful Italian restaurants on the Monterey Peninsula, but one that has consistently received awards for years on end that we wanted to highlight is Il Vecchio. It is located in Pacific Grove on Lighthouse Ave just past New Monterey, and the interior decor is absolutely beautiful. You walk in and are greeted with the divine aromas of fresh pastas and pizzas. They have very memorable menu offerings with  polenta ragu & the bolognese being my go-to dishes when I’m not looking to explore new menu items.

If you’ve been wanting to experiment with Italian wines, this is the perfect place to enjoy a chianti red or Albariño white paired with a fantastic dish. The owner is there often and checks on his guests personally. The setting is wonderful, and we highly recommend this restaurant!
