Get on your gourmand! The Relais & Châteaux GourmetFest happens this year from February 24-28 right here in beautiful Carmel-by-the-Sea. This is the third year if the event, founded by L’Auberge’s David Fink (he was the original founder of the Masters of Food & Wine). The idea is to marry the “world’s best Hoteliers, Chefs and Restaurateurs”.

The festival brings to you top chefs from around the globe, the best wineries, and the finest luxury brands. This year you can expect over 18 unique events, which include:

  • A strolling welcome party
  • Five wine tastings
  • Two rarities events
  • Two cooking demos
  • Four lunches and dinners

There is a lot more information at the festival’s main website, and we will provide you with a direct link to order tickets in advance. Before that, here’s more to tempt your palate…

You can feel even better than all that fabulous food and wine by taking part in a charity auction where 100% of the proceeds go toward supporting the Carmel Chamber of Commerce, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In fact, there’s a button on the main website’s home page that will allow you to place a bid on an item today. Of the many high profile and well-known participants, you’ll see Executive Chef Justin Cooley from Aubergine at L’Auberge Carmel, chefs Hiroshi Nakamichi and Tomoyuki Kon from Restaurant Molière, Pastry Chef Stephanie Prida of Manresa, and Master Sommelier Larry Stone. In addition to what has been already mentioned, events include A Morning with the Grand Crus, a Farmers Market Lunch, a Black Truffle Dinner, and much more.
